Silchar, June 3: In a major catch, Cachar police seized 1.030 kg of suspected heroin contained in 85 soap cases which was being carried by two persons in a Bolero vehicle from Mahur to Karimganj district.
Cachar SP Vaibhav Chandrakant Nimbalkar informed the media on Thursday that based on secret information, the vehicle was intercepted in Police checking at Bihara police outpost in Cachar and two persons were arrested.
The persons have been identified as Nazmul Haque, 31 years, a resident of Baraigram bazar under Patharkandi constituency and Joinal Abedin, 31 years from Madanmohan area under Badarpur police station.
