Guwahati, May 14: At least two persons have been killed and as many injured in a suspected grenade blast at Tingrai Market in Tinsukia district of Assam today.


Union Home Minister Amit Shah enquired about the situation over telephone from Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma. Shah also condoled the death of the two civilians. Chief Minister Sarma has directed the Assam Police to launch investigation immediately and nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, the banned ULFA (I), in a press statement, has denied it's involvement in the blast.
