Two Bangladeshi nationals arrested for entering India illegally

Dhubri, Sept 16: Dhubri police on the early hours of Thursday apprehended two Bangladeshi nationals for entering India illegally and staying here without any proper documents.

Police informed that a police team led by Trilochan Das, Sub-inspector Dhubri PS raided the house of one Siddique Sheikh at Ironjongla area under Dhubri PS and arrested two persons named Maqbool Sheikh (48 years) and his son Basir Sheikh (18 years) both original resident of Kathalbari village in Kurigram district of Bangladesh.


Police informed preliminary investigation has revealed that they worked as labourers in brick kilns in different parts of India and Nepal. Maqbool has reportedly been staying in India and Nepal since the last 20 to 30 years. He is married to a woman at Dhubri and got arrested when he came to visit his in-laws.

Police also arrested two other Indians, Siddique Sheikh and Asadul of Dhubri in suspicion of giving shelter to the arrested Bangladeshi nationals, informed Rozy Rani Sarma, Additional Superintendent of Police, Dhubri.
