Silchar, July 19: Based on secret information, SDPO Lakhipur along with OC Jirighat and staff of Lakhipur police station recovered 87 gram of suspected heroin and arrested two persons from Chotomamda in Cachar district.
The arrested persons have been identified as Ginjosh Gangte(23), a resident of Lalpani, Haukip Punji in Jirighat and Siyaram Rabi Das (45yrs) of Natun Ram Nagar Pt-4 under Sonai constituency. Cachar SP Vaibhav Nimbalkar informed that necessary legal formalities are being initiated.
The SP further informed that in another successful operation, the SDPO Lakhipur and with OC Lakhipur and staff intercepted a person on a scooty while he was coming from Jirighat towards Fulerthal and on being searched recovered five soap cases containing 62 gram of suspected heroin.
