Guwahati, Jan 3: A group of unidentified people robbed over Rs 40 lakhs from two State Bank of India ATMs using a gas-cutter in Bongaigaon's Barpara area.
As informed by the police, a total of six to seven people executed the robbery. Moreover, they also disconnected the CCTV connections before committing the crime. The police officials were notified by a monitoring team in Hyderabad about the tampering of the ATM, following which they reached the spot.
However, the thieves managed to flee before the police arrived on the spot.
The police informed that further investigations are going on.
