Dhubri, June 3: The District administration is all set to form an inter-departmental special task force, to check different illegal activities prevailing in the district including unlawful trading in the interstate as well as international bordering areas of Dhubri district.

While addressing the press on Wednesday the Deputy Commissioner Anbamuthan MP informed that the task force will be headed by an executive magistrate. "Meeting with all the departments is being held and with the help of all the departments the Task Force will be formed, that include officials from District Transport Office, Forest Department, Legal Meteorology and police departments", said the Deputy Commissioner.

It may be mentioned that news from various sources since few days have confirmed that there is an ongoing nexus between government officials and illegal traders is prevalent in the District which has given rise to irregularities in various trade specially like that of Stones, Sand and Poultry. In this regard in the last few days a police official of DSP Rank has been arrested and a Forester has been suspended on corruption charges and irregularities in their duty.

"This task force will be fully utilised and will be deployed for checking all the illegal activities' ', said the DC and added that the priority of the government is to do away with the illegal activities. He also said that the administration will coordinate with the Border Security Forces and hopes that these interdepartmental coordinated activities will make positive changes. Talking to this correspondent the DC updated that they have already worked out in regards to the Task Force and by Saturday the Order for the same will come out and it will be operational soon after that.
