Snatchers runaway with Rs 2 lakh from employee of Radha Madhav College in Silchar

Silchar,June 2: Miscreants snatched cash of Rs 2 lakh from an employee of Radha Madhav College in Silchar on Friday afternoon.

According to authorities of the college, an employee of the college was handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to be withdrawn from New Silchar branch of State Bank of India at Rangirkhari while another staff of the college also gave him a cheque of Rs 1 lakh from his personal account for withdrawal. However, when the employee was returning with the money, snatchers attacked him and ran away with the money leaving the college employee injured.

Dr Debashish Roy, principal of the college informed the media that an FIR has been filed at Rangirkhari police station. Meanwhile police informed that an investigation into the case was already underway.
