Dhubri, June 3: The District administration on Thursday sealed at least nine shops in Dhubri town area for not following COVID-19 SOPs.
According to Executive magistrate, Partha Pratim Barman, the shops were sealed for violating several COVID-19 protocols and the administration has also imposed fines upon these shops under Dhubri municipality area. "We have sealed these shops until further order and we will continue this activity for some times", said Barman.
He also added that all the shops that have been sealed were that of non essential items and the main accusation against them is that they were functioning after 11 AM, which is the time till when a shop for non-essential items may remain open. It has also been informed that in many of the shops the shopkeepers and their customers were not following Covid guidelines. "Our aim is not to harass the public, but to inform the public to follow the SOP's properly to curb the Pandemic".
