Raha , Sep 18 : Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested one individual on Friday night for allegedly peddling 30 grams of suspected brown sugar worth around Rs 5 lakhs at Chaparmukh junction.
While speaking to this correspondent, Bipul Sarania, Inspector, RPF, Chaparmukh said, "Our team in a joint operation with GRP, Chaparmukh recovered 30 grams of brown sugar worth around Rs 5 lakhs and arrested one drug peddler from Dibrugarh - Rangia bound passenger train in the evening on Friday."
"Acting on a tip-off that a consignment was from Dimapur , Nagaland to be delivered, we placed a decoy and arrested the drug peddler," said Anup Dutta , police official, GRP , Chaparmukh.
The peddler was identified as Sofiqul Rohman , an inhabitant of Kachua , Kampur. Further probe in the matter is underway.
