Kokrajhar, Dec 17: BTR Chief Promod Boro has urged for more positive and constructive role of media persons in the developmental process of BTR to achieve prosperity.
Talking to media persons during the interactive discussion at BTC Secretariat on the completion of one year of BTR government, Boro said that media played a major role to bring about peace and normalcy in this area for which the media people has contributed for its prosperity as an ongoing process. He has also revealed that the BTR government is taking steps to extend welfare facilities and logistic support for better working of media people in the coming days.
At the same time he also criticised the misuse of social media platform irresponsibly by many individuals in the name of news making business which is most alarming and hence appealed the media persons to follow ethics and professional standards while covering news and events.
He has further mentioned that due to Covid pandemic many of the work have been halted and slowed down but a plan has been chalked out for speedy and time bound progress of work in BTR.
During the discussion, journalists of Kokrajhar district attended along with the Deputy Chief and EMs of BTR in which several issues were also discussed. Boro further took feedback and suggestions from the people attending the discussion and assured to solve the anomalies at the earliest.
