Diphu, June 26: Karbi Anglong police has left no stone unturned to stop anti-social activities.
Based on the reference Manja PS case No 34/21/u/s 15©/25/27A/29 NDPS Act a team of Karbi Anglong Police under Manja police station intercepted a truck bearing registration No RJ-19GB/9825 and recovered 103 packets total weighing 2486 kg (24.86 quintals) of poppy straw at Manja which market value is expected be around worth Rs.2.5 crores.
According to police sources, an operation was conducted led by Jitumani Deka, officer in-charge of Manja police station on Friday. In this connection two persons have been arrested. The arrested persons have been identified as Chandra Prakash (38) resident of Chitorbhera under Bhojasar police station of Phalodi district, Rajasthan and Krishna Ram (28) resident of Jodpur, Rajasthan.
It may be mentioned here that based on the statement made by the two arrested persons, Manja police proceeded to Dimapur in association with Mwblik Brahma officer in-charge, Khakhati police station and his police team. One Nojrul Islam was arrested after raiding the Godown situated at Chumukidima Nadi par under Chumukidima police station of Dimapur, Nagaland. The police team also recovered 17 kg of poppy straw from the Godwon, police sources said.
