Hailakandi, Feb 12: Water resources minister Pijush Hazarika exuded optimism of winning all the 80 civic bodies of the state.

The minister is very much confident that BJP will win all the municipal boards and town committees of the state. Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Hazarika said that the urban people will vote for the development.

The civic poll is scheduled to be held in Assam on March 6.

"The ruling BJP has created an environment of development all over the state and people will definitely go for development. The BJP will put candidates in all the wards of eighty urban bodies," said Hazarika.

He asserted that Rs 200 crore has been sanctioned for the protection of floods.

Hazarika further said that the Congress party will not be able to win a single ward in the upcoming civic poll. He also maintained that the party couldn't win a single election after 2014 and alleged that the Congress party has failed to do any developmental activities in Barak Valley.

Attacking state Congress president Bhupen Bora, Hazarika said that he has started a comedy circus-like Kapil Sharma Show. "The Congress party severed alliance with AIUDF after their debacle in the Assembly poll and now again trying to make a pre-poll alliance with the Ajmal brigade before Rajya Sabha election," Hazarika added.
