Peace accord with Karbi ultras on September 4

Diphu, Aug 31: The much awaited peace accord between various rebel groups and government will be signed on September 4 at New Delhi. The tripartite agreement will be signed between five insurgent outfits, government of India and Assam government.


Infamous rebel leader of Assam Sangbijit Ingti Kathar will sign the tripartite agreement as chief of the PDCK insurgent group which surrendered last year before Chief Minister of Assam.


A huge assemblage of one hundred sixty two persons comprising overground members, leaders of various outfits, political leaders and media persons will reach Delhi ahead of signing of the accord. Signatories of the accord will be representatives of rebel group PDCK, KLNLF, three factions of KPLT and UPLA, Government of India and Assam Government.


Clauses of the agreement have been kept secret till now by the government and the rebel leaders are also tight-lipped on the issue, however it can be anticipated that the agreement will wrap-up a huge development package, enticement for rehabilitation etc.
