Hailakandi, Oct 30: The arrested Mizo person identified as Laldintwanga, 23 has been forwarded to judicial custody by the court today in Hailakandi.
Police sources said that a high explosive blast using detonating cord near Baicherra BoP under Ramnathpur police station in Assam-Mizoram border occured on Friday morning by suspected Mizo miscreants.
Laldintwanga, a resident of Bairabi in Kolasib district of Mizoram was picked up by Assam Police for suspiciously moving near the site. The officer-in-charge of Ramnathpur Police Station, Liton Nath confirmed it. According to police sources, some Mizo miscreants and others entered and carried out this blast using high explosives in the close vicinity of Assam Police Outpost.
During the investigation Laldintwanga, revealed to be a Mizo IRBN Personnel. He was arrested and forwarded to judicial custody under Ramnathpur PS case no 192/21 under section 120(B)/447/427 IPC, Section 4 of PDPP Act, Section 3 of E.S. Act, that has been registered with reference to the incident and investigation is underway, police said.
