Silchar, Oct 05: A one-day physical awareness program on Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) and Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF) was held at Borjalenga in Cachar district on Monday.

Ganesh Borah, Fishery Development Officer informed that as many as 261 stakeholders including fish farmers, fishery professionals, and unemployed youths covering three districts of Barak Valley took part in the program.

In the programme presided over by Subodh Das, representative of Minister of Fisheries Parimal Suklabaidya, ADC Kamal Baruah, delivered the keynote address. A.K.Borah, Executive Assistant (Tech) cum Officer in Charge, NFDB, NERC, Guwahati delivered a talk on PMMSY and FIDF schemes. District Fisheries Officer Rafiqul Haque and Nurul Amin Ansari delivered lectures on scientific based pisciculture activities. Representatives from the World Bank and other dignitaries from various Gaon Panchayats attended the event.
