Nine ft long Burmese python rescued in Cachar

Silchar, Oct 31: A nine-foot-long (approximately) Burmese python was rescued from a village in Cachar district on Saturday.

Trikal Chakraborty, a student of Assam University Silchar and an environment enthusiast led the rescue operation with officials from the Cachar Forest Division. Chakraborty informed that the reptile weighed 15 kg.

Tejas Mariswamy, the Cachar DFO informed that based on the information received from local public, forest officials along with the environment enthusiast rushed to rescue the reptile and later it was released in the nearby forest area.
