NCB Guwahati seizes 3836 kg marijuana, 3 booked

Guwahati, Jan 11: While the law enforcement officials have intensified their drive against drugs, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Guwahati Unit managed to seize the largest ever consignment of Marijuana.

As per sources, at least 3836 kgs of marijuana was found concealed in two trucks in Guwahati. The drugs were brought from Tripura and were supposed to be smuggled to Bihar.

So far three persons have been booked by the NCB and further investigations are going on.

In line with the clarion call by State chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on 'War on Drugs', the Assam Police has intensified its operations against drug dealers following which several people were arrested who were in possession of illegal substances.
