By The Assam Tribune

Silchar, May 4: In what could be called a great example of harmony, a group of Muslim youths stepped up to co-operate an NGO for the last rights of a COVID-19 victim in Karimganj.

Sources informed that while there were issues in proper Karimganj town with the last rites of a person who died of COVID-19 recently, the NGO which is assigned for carrying out the cremation of such casualties got the help of Muslim locals as the last rights were performed in a far off place at Junitilla area of the district.

Reacting on the situation, the locals who extended helping hands said " it was in the wee hours when we were approaching the local mosque for the morning prayers after sehri. We saw a body is being brought along with police persons and came to learn that it was the body of a COVID-19 victim. We assured all possible help needed to cremate the body and we feel happy to be able to do this bit."
