Diphu, June 17: Anti-drugs operation has been continuing by Karbi Anglong police.


Most wanted international drug smuggler has been arrested today by Karbi Anglong police. Massive, operation was carried out today led by John Das, SDPO Bokajan in active support of Officer-in-Charge, Khatkhati Police Station, Mwblik Brahma, Inspector Bhupen Kalita, Barpathar, SI Charan Mohan Chetia, I/C Laharijan PP, Manujjal Gogoi, SI Mridul Rudra Paul, ASI Mohan Nath, CRPF C 20th camp Bokajan, APRG Camp Bokajan and operation team from Diphu.

According to police sources, on the basis of the reference Barpather PS case no:-30/21 u/s 21 (c) NDPS act where a drug peddler with 64 soap cases containing 723 grams heroin was arrested. Police interrogated the arrested accused rigorously. During interrogation it revealed that a lady who is known as '' Didi'' in Dimapur was the main dealer who supplied the above drugs. However, police could not receive the phone number from the arrested drug smugglers.


Later, a plan was made by police to reach the 'Didi' (main drugs dealer). Police then engaged their sources to go to Dimapur. Few days later, police finally managed to find out the details of Didi along with the phone number of Didi and it was analyzed deeply. According to the police's source, the name of Didi was Th. Paone (50), wife of Lt Seloune, vill-Chinai Kula, Dist-Senapati, Manipur and she used to deliver huge quantities of drugs to Nagaon, Marigaon, and Guwahati.

However, due to frequent raids made by police against her customers she reduced the consignment with the prior customers and she was trying to get new customers, police sources said. Accordingly, the police planned to take this opportunity and put their sources as customers. A deal was fixed to deliver a good quantity of heroin. It was very difficult to convince her, police sources said. But she agreed at last and today at around 9 am 'Didi' was arrested with red handed by the police while she was coming to deliver heroin at Janakpukhuri under Khatkhati police station along with 164 packets of fine quality heroin weighing 2.125 kg. The market price of the seized heroin is expected to be Rs 7 cr, police sources said.


In this connection another person namely Kevin Movi (23), son of Mote Movi, Dimapur 7th Mile has also been arrested. They have carried the drugs in an Alto k10 vehicle bearing registration No AS-01ABV/ 9058.
