Guwahati, Jan 16: A minor was allegedly raped by a drunk man in Margherita town in Tinsukia district of Assam.
The accused, who is now absconding has been identified as Ajgar Ali and is being charged for the rape of the minor.
Reportedly, Ali forcefully picked the victim in his car and raped her.
A case has been registered against him in Margherita police station, following which the police has initiated an inquiry. A man hunt has been launched to nab the culprit at the earliest.
Meanwhile, the minor has been sent for a medical check.
As per reports, the victim's family claimed that Ali was in a drunk state when he committed the alleged crime, however, he fled the scene soon after.
