Medical staffs cheered up Corona virus patients with dance in Dhubri

Dhubri, May 17: Grooving to Bihu numbers and songs of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, a group of hospital staff in Dhubri Districts Moterjhar Mahatma Gandhi Model Hospital, on Monday morning attempted to cheer patients up in the Covid-19 ward.

Wearing protective gear, the healthcare workers danced to popular Assamese songs to lift the patients' morale, swinging their arms around and encouraging patients to join them, in the government hospital, which has attracted a name, when it comes to service to the patients. The two consecutive Kayakalpa Award winning Hospitals, have installed a music system in the Covid ward, where with a microphone, where patients can listen to music played by themselves as well as by the medical staff whenever needed. The Hospital staff also informed that the patients also sing by using this music system.

However, the hospital authority has been also promoting yoga amongst the Covid-19 patients, to take care of the mental as well as physical health of the patients. It may be mentioned that the Model Hospital Currently have, Four Doctors, Five GNM Nurses, One ANM Nurse, Four ward girls and eight other fourth-grade employees.

Rinku Ahmed, Deputy Superintendent of the hospital stated that only symptomatic patients have been admitted to the hospital that needs mental support to recover. "Adaptation of Music, Dance and Yoga by the hospital is just an attempt to make the patients mentally strong, so that they can recover fast physically and defeat the Covid-19 infection". She thanked the administration and health department for encouraging the hospital to take innovative steps.
