Kokrajhar, Dec.18: The Special Judge of Kokrajhar Chandranshu Chaturvedy, has held the accused Saminur Hoque guilty under section 376 AB of IPC and R/W section 6 of the POCSO and ordered to suffer rigorous imprisonment for life with payment of fine of Rs. 25,000/- and in default to undergo imprisonment for 3 years.
The Special Judge also made a recommendation to the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Kokrajhar for payment of adequate compensation to the victim.
It may be mentioned here that on 23/08/2019, a case of raping a minor was registered at Kajigaon Police Station in Kokrajhar district by the victim's mother alleging that while she was attending a marriage function, accused Saminur Hoque, lured her 7-year-old daughter to a nearby park and committed rape forcefully.
Police registered a case against the accused and following investigation filed a charge sheet. Prosecution examined as many as sixteen witnesses in this case and the Special Judge of Kokrajhar Chandranshu Chaturvedy gave the judgement recently.
