Silchar, Sept 24: Silchar, Sept 24: The two-day Maharishi regional cultural celebration of schools under the Maharishi Vidya Mandir (MVM) Assam region began on Friday.


Samita Dutta, principal of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Silchar informed that the MVM Silchar is hosting the regional annual event for the first time in which over 100 participants from 12 MVMs in the region including two from Barak Valley have taken part in various competitive events. The events are held online for student participants who would be depicting their skills in art, culture, science and mathematics and even yoga chores. The participants have been grouped into two categories including class VI-VIII in the junior group and Class-IX to XII in the senior group, the principal informed.

"We are proud to host the regional cultural event for the first time. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the students are taking part in the online mode. Our faculty members and staff including Sujata Dutta Gupta, Ritam Chakraborty and Rupanjal Ghosh have taken the challenge of arranging the event and sending the feed to the school central offices in Bhopal and we hope that the participants will put up impressive performances in the various competitive categories. The top two schools at the regional level will go through to the national event," the Silchar MVM principal said.
