Karimganj police seize 40,000 bottles of cough syrup from Assam-Tripura border

Silchar, Aug 22: In a major catch, Karimganj police seized 40,000 bottles of cough syrup from a place along the Assam-Tripura interstate border at Churaibari.

Karimganj SP Padmanabh Baruah informed that the consignment of drugs was carefully concealed under 100 cartons of fruits.

The seized narcotics packed in as many as 250 cartons have a market value of Rs 2 crore (approximately). He added to inform that one person identified as Bablu Pandey, a resident of Bihar has been arrested in this connection.
