Karimganj circuit house declared as micro containment zone

Nilambazar, April 23: The three rooms of Karimganj Circuit House has been declared as micro containment zones after general Observer of LA-1 Ratabari constituency and two others including one Additional deputy commissioners (ADC) cum Returning officer of LA-2 Patharkandi constituency of the district tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus on Thursday.

As per reports, general Observer of Ratabari LAC Rajib Sharma (IAS) and his wife Sudha Sharma tested positive for novel coronavirus through the Rapid Antigen testing method. Rajib Sharma was came to Karimganj on 17th April after declaration of repolling of one booth centre at Badshahitilla under Ratabari constituency and he was tested positive on 18th April. His wife Sudha Sharma while rushed to the Karimganj on 20th April after getting the information of his husband and she has also tested positive. Both of them occupying room no 5 and 6 of Additional circuit house. Meanwhile Rajeshon Terong, ADC cum Returning officer of LA-2 Patherkandi constituency has also tested positive on 22th April. Who is occupying room no 2 of the circuit house.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Karimganj deputy commissioner Ambumuthan M P has declared that the circuit house room no's 5,6 and 2 are shall be treated as a micro Containment Zone area and imposed the restrictions as per guidelines.

Presently, there are 95 active coronavirus cases in Karimganj district. Six people have been referred at Silchar medical College.

Meanwhile with massive spike in COVID-19 cases in border district Karimganj, the Karimganj District Administration has ordered closure of all primary and Lower Primary schools in the district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) has issued a notification ordering closure of all lower primary schools (Class 1 to 5), both Government and private till April 8, as modified guidelines of the government.
