Gusty wind uproots trees, electricity poles causing power outage in Silchar, restored

Slichar, Aug 5: A gusty wind on Thursday afternoon caused power outages for long hours at many places in Silchar.

According to sources in the APDCL at Silchar, due to strong wind, 11 kv lines were affected at Park Road and Trunk Road areas causing power outages across Tarapur, Malugram and some other places for hours. SDRF men rushed to clear the logs and ease traffic movement along the affected areas, informed Shamim Ahmed Laskar, Project Officer DDMA Cachar.

On the other hand, an official from APDCL informed that after rigorous work for nearly five hours since afternoon, power supply was restored towards evening.
