Guwahati, Nov 8: Court of special magistrate, Kamrup(Metro) granted bail to Ashok Saikia, the son of former Chief Minister Hiteswar Saikia. He has been asked by the court to appear for a hearing on Tuesday.
Ashok Saikia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Sunday in connection with a 25-year-old loan default case. He was arrested from Guwahati and was produced in the CBI court.
He was arrested after a non-bailable warrant was issued against him by the court and he failed to appear before the court despite being summoned.
