Diphu, Nov 17: A significant achievement for Bokajan police. Based on specific information received, an operation was conducted on Tuesday night at around 9.30 pm at Matipul area under Bokajan police station against drugs smugglers.


According to police reports, the Bokajan police team managed to nab two drug traffickers from Matipu area under Bokajan police station. The police sources said that a scooty bearing registration No AS09H/4234 was intercepted by the police team and recovered 150 numbers of soap boxes containing 1 kg and 777 grams of heroin.


In this connection two drugs traffickers have been apprehended and they have been identified as Bimol Tossa (23) son of Jiban Tossa, resident of Gharialdubi under Bokajan police station and one another Saddam Hussain (26) son of late Saiful Islam, resident of Mairabari Patik Bari village under Mairabari police station, Marigaon. The expected market value of the seized heroin is 12 crore, police sources said.

On the other hand, it needs to be mentioned here that Saddam Hussain received bullet injury on his leg in police firing while he tried to escape from police. Later, Saddam Hussain was admitted at Bokajan CHC for his treatment, police sources said.

As per the report of preliminary investigation it was informed that the duo drug traffickers had planned to deliver the consignment to Naoghat under Sarupathar subdivision, Golaghat district.

The successful operation was carried out under the leadership of John Das, SDPO, Bokajan in support of Bokajan OC, Moni Chamuah, Mwblik Brahma, OC, Khatkhati, Mridul Rudra Paul, SI, Biplob Das, SI, Sujib Basumatary, ASI, staff, APRG, camp Bokajan and active support of VDP of Matipul area police report said.
