Diphu, Oct 20: A drug peddler was apprehended with contraband here on Tuesday at Laharijan under Khakhati police station of Bokajan subdivision in Karbi Anglong.
During the anti-drugs search drive carried out under the leadership of John Das, SDPO, Bokajan, Mwblik Brahma, OC, Khakhati police station and Saran Mohan Chetia, SI and staff, one drug peddler who has been identified as Amir Ali, son of Ajhar Ali, resident of Laharijan Tilabasti under Khakhati police station was apprehended.
According to report, the drug was recovered from a Scooty that did not have a number plate. The drug was concealed in the three soap boxes whose quantity was reported to be 33.90 grams and its market value expected to be worth Rs 1 lakh, police sources said.
Interrogation is currently underway to collect detailed information regarding the contraband drugs trafficking, the sources added.
