Diphu, Oct 9: Anti drugs operation against traffickers has been continuing by Karbi Anglong police.
Police sources said that acting on the basis of specific information shared by Mwblik Brahma, OC, Khakhati police station regarding carrying of drugs from Manipur several Naka checking was set up at Khatkhati , Barpathar and Dilai police stations respectively. Around 11 am a suspected Breeza vehicle bearing registration No NL-07H /7110 fled away from Khatkhati Naka and moved towards Barpathar police station. The Naka party of Barpathar police station led by OC Barpathar Dhruba Jyoti Borah and staff trapped the vehicle from the Silonijan area. The vehicle was thoroughly searched in presence of local independent witnesses and found some welding structures behind the door panels.It may be mentioned here that after breaking the welding structure by mechanic and the 698 grams of heroin that concealed in soap boxes was found. In this connection two persons have been apprehended, police sources said.
The apprehended drugs traffickers have been identified as Bikash Thapa (28) son of Lt Kharka Thapa resident of Senapati District, Manipur on the other hand the other one identified as Aman Dulhal (26) son of kharananda Dulhal resident of Senapati, Manipur, the police sources added.
The vehicle was supposed to go Jagirod the duo apprehended drugs traffickers revealed during the preliminary interrogation. Later, the drugs were seized under the physical supervision of John Das, SDPO Bokajan, assisted by Moni Chamuah and Khatkhati officers' inchers of Barpathar and Khakhati police stations respectively.
