Diphu MP justifies peace accord

Diphu, Oct 7: Amid the demonstration staged by a particular political party against the momentous peace accord signed on September 4 between six Karbi rebel groups and Centre, Member of Lok Sabha from Diphu constituency, Horensing Bey, while justifying the accord described the agreement as an achievement.

During the interaction with media persons the parliamentarian has credited the policy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and efforts of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for completion of the peace agreement which according to him will bring serenity and affluence in the two hill districts of Assam.

In the interview he has mentioned that Government of India at present doesn't have any strategy for creation of new State, therefore the agreement has been accorded with growth and expansion clauses to substantiate the requirement of a State. He pointed out that the government of Assam and the central government have agreed on lots of amenities in this agreement; and the armed organisations have received the agreement.
