Dhubri: Six arrested with bullets, arms and drugs

Dhubri, Feb 19: In a joint operation by Quick action team of 48 Battalion CRPF along with Dhubri police six persons were arrested, in the early hours of Saturday along with one country made pistol, 6 live rounds of 9 mm pistol bullets and commercial quantity of addictive substances from their possession.

A team led by Sizal Agarwal IPS (P) along with Inspector Dewan Rahiz Ahmed of College Town Out Post and the quick action team of 48 Battalion CRPF, conducted a search operation at of Amerbhita, Choto Bajjani area near Dhubri town in the residence of one Anisur Rahman, from where the illegal items were recovered and seized. Police also seized two walkie talkie hand sets, four mobile phones, a CCTV set up and a cash amount of Rs 5000/- from Anisur's resident, informed police.

Police also arrested one Golam Hussain, resident of Chagolchora P-ll, Jalaluddin, resident of Bhashanir Char, Rabial Hoque, resident of Ironjongla, Hasenur Rahman, resident of Chagolchora P-ll, Moklesur Rahman, resident of Choto Bajjani, who is the brother of house owner Anisur Rahman, who has many previous criminal records and has been engaged in criminal activities since long time.

Later, the police brought all the six accused along with the seized items to Dhubri Sadar Police Station and police registered a case against them informed Sizal Agarwal, IPS (P), Dhubri.
