Delhi based Assam journalist dies of COVID

Guwahati, April 30: New Delhi based Assamese journalist Nilakshi Bhattacharyya passed away battling with COVID-19 at a private hospital on April 30. Bhattacharyya who was working with The Times of India was also known for her participation in adventure sports.

She left behind her daughter and journalist husband Kalyan Baruah who is the Delhi bureau chief of The Assam Tribune. Baruah is also tested positive of COVID-19 and undergoing treatment in a hospital.

She was one of the founder members of adventure sports group Explorers in Guwahati.

Journalist fraternity and others have expressed grief over the untimely demise of the journalist.
