Covid-19 scare: vehicles in Cachar to ply in odd-even pattern

Silchar, May 12: Amidst a significant rise of COVID-19 cases in Cachar district, the District Administration, in pursuant order of Government of Assam on Wednesday the restriction regarding plying of private and personal vehicles have been made from 5AM to 2PM, Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli has issued an order on Wednesday stating that that vehicles plying within the district with odd and even numbers will be allowed to ply on alternative dates.

As such, vehicles bearing odd number ending with 1,3,5,7,9 would ply on on 13th,15th,17th,19th,21th,23rd of May and vehicles bearing numbers ending with even number will be allowed to ply on even dates,for example vehicle ending with 0, 2,4,6,8 would ply on 14th,16th,18th,20th,22nd ,24th May.

It further stated that the restrictions will not be applicable in respect of government vehicles,water tankers,milk carrying vans, Ambulance,LPG Distribution vans, vehicles hired or private used for medical duty, covid 19 duty on production of valid ID proof, personal vehicles used for medical emergency services.
