Guwahati, March 26: A civil action programme was organised by the 156 Bn CRPF for Swarup Sithi Human Resource High school Dhaligaon in Chirang District.

Installation of a cycle stand and a volleyball ground was done by the CRPF at the high school.

The programme was inaugurated by Om Parkash Tokas, Commandant 156 Bn CRPF. The programme was held under the guidance of Sonal V Misra, IPS, Inspector General of North Eastern Sector, CRPF.

Under the civic action programme the CRPF conducts various activities to meet the immediate necessary requirements of the local populace.

Tokas motivated the students present there to work hard towards achieving their goals. He also assured the CRPF's assistance even in the days to come and also stated that civic action programme is an initiative of Government of India to act as a bridge between the security forces and the local people and outlines the various civic action related programmes that the unit had already undertaken in both Chirang and Bongaigaon districts of Assam.

He further assured the gathering that the unit will continue to serve the school students, by carrying out such humanitarian activities.

School principal and school authorities expressed their appreciation to the battalion for its initiative and urged the CRPF to carry out similar programmes in the future.

On the occasion was graced by P.K. Das, Deputy Commandant, Nabin Borgoyary, Principal of Swarup Sithi Human Resource High school, Sos, Jawans of 156 Bn CRPF and school children and teachers.
