Cachar witnesses spurt in COVID-19 inoculation, over 18,000 doses jabbed on Tuesday

Silchar, June 22: Amidst a spurt in the vaccination drive, as many as 24,263 citizens of Cachar district were vaccinated on Monday and according to a release issued to the media from the DDIPR Barak Valley region, the figures of vaccines administered on beneficiaries have placed Cachar on the third slot after Kamrup Metro and Dibrugarh ranked first and second districts respectively with regard to dozes administered.

Interestingly, while sharing his reaction District Guardian Minister Ashok Singhal, in a tweet congratulated the Cachar district administration and the people of the district for this achievement. "Relentless effort of team @dccachar, @nhmcachar & Covid warriors of Cachar Dist has shown excellent result," the Guardian Minister for Cachar district had tweeted. Besides, RAT tests of more than 23,000 citizens have been conducted in the district on this day, sources in the District Administration informed.

On Tuesday, Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli informed that for the consecutive day, the district has crossed the targeted doses of vaccination. Echoing the Deputy Commissioner's statement District Media Expert Suman Choudhury informed that on Tuesday, over 18,000 persons were administered vaccines across various sites in the district.
