Silchar, Jun 6: Maintaining a tough stance against criminal activities, Cachar police recovered 12 buffaloes which were allegedly transferred in unhealthy condition from a truck bearing Reg. No. AS01/DC-1079 from a place near Sarashpur under Gumrah PIC under Katigorah police station.
Cachar SP Vaibhav Nimbalkar informed that based on secret inputs IC Kalain had chased the vehicle. But the unidentified driver managed to flee while the vehicle was seized and the buffalos were recovered. A suo motu case has been taken up and investigation is on. Meanwhile, the seized buffaloes were kept at a local pound after health checkup, the SP said.
On the other hand, in yet another case, police seized 67 cartons liquor which were being transported illegally in a truck under Dwarbond Police station and also seized 37 bottles of IMFL from a place at Rangirkhari area of Silchar.
