Silchar, Aug 18: Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli reviewed the health parameters related to maternal and child health issues in the Lakhipur sub-division of Cachar district and held talks with the health officials on Wednesday.

During her visit to Lakhipur, she had talks with health functionaries of Lakhipur Block Primary health centre and Harinagar Block Primary health centre at Pailapool Community Centre. Also, Jalli interacted with high-risk pregnant women inquired about their health condition and gave specific instruction to the SDM&HOs, CHOs, ANMs, ASHAs, ASHA supervisors regarding the management of each high-risk case. Moreover, The Deputy Commissioner underscored the need to convince families on the issue of family planning. Jalli has instructed that the ASHAs should mandatorily visit the eligible couples to detect pregnancy early and get them registered at the sub-centre.

Dr B. J. Deb Sikdar, in charge Joint Director of Health Services, Dr P. K. Roy, Additional CM&HO, Dr Sumona Naiding, DIO, Rahul Ghose, DPM (NHM), Suman Choudhury, District Media Expert (NHM) and other officials of NHM. Ruth Liengthang, ADC, Lakhipur sub-division, Dr T. H. Choudhury, SDM&HO, Lakhipur BPHC, Dr Dibyajyoti Nath, SDM&HO, Harinagar BPHC and other health officials of the two BPHCs accompanied the Deputy Commissioner in the meeting.
