Silchar, May 5: Along with other districts of the state, BJP Cachar district unit has drawn the attention of President of India on the instances of violence in many parts of West Bengal since the announcement of the results of Assembly elections on May 2.

The BJP leadership sent the memorandum to the President through the Cachar Deputy Commissioner.

Bimolendu Roy, in-charge President of Cachar district unit said that the BJP karyakartas are being targeted and lynched in areas wherein the party has lost in the election. " It is disturbing to learn about two deaths and women karyakartas being molested. The role of West Bengal police in this regard is pathetic as they have refused to register cases against the goons. We strongly condemn the incidents and demand strong action and urge upon the Honourable President to initiate exemplary steps against such atrocities in West Bengal.
