Silchar, Aug 12: Based on specific inputs on illegal movement of cattle on NH-06 from Katigorah area towards Meghalaya allegedly for smuggling purpose, the 1st battalion of Border Security Force, Mizoram and Cachar Frontier launched a special operation on Wednesday and seized one truck bearing registration No.NL-01-AE-0348 which was carrying 22 buffaloes from Hilara railway crossing.

Also, during the search operation two persons with a Maruti 800 car were apprehended. A release issued from the Public Relations Cell of BSF informed that the two persons were connected with this illegal transportation of buffaloes.

The release further informed that seized buffaloes along with the truck, car and apprehended persons were been handed over to Katigorah police station for legal actions with a requisition to lodge an FIR.The BSF troops of Mizoram and Cachar Frontier have seized total 150 cattle since January this year while being attempted for smuggling purpose, the release mentioned.
