Barak Banga draws Cachar admins attention on plight of people within Containment zones

Silchar, May 24: At a time when Cachar district administration has issued prohibitory orders regarding movement of people for 14 days in areas with higher numbers of COVID-19 cases and declared the areas as Containment zones across various places of the district, the Silchar town Anchalik Committee of Barak Upotyaka Banga Sahitya O Sanskriti Sammelan, also known as Barak Banga has raised concerns over the difficulties faced by the people stuck in the contained zones.

A delegation of the Sammelan including Nikhil Paul, Uttam Kumar Saha, Dipak Sengupta, Kamal Paul, met Cachar Deputy Commissioner Keerthi Jalli and drawn her attention on the plight of the people in such containment zones who are fighting both with COVID-19 as well as against the apprehension of resource saturation including food and essentials.

The delegation also urged the DC to look into the matter and chalk out ways to facilitate the families within Containment zones with measures so that they can buy essential food items, medicines etc even while being inside the restrictions of COVID-19 containment zones.
