By Correspondent

Diphu, August 24: The bid of bank robbery was thwarted in Diphu town on Monday, this time it is not the police but the integral security system of the bank that did the job.

The dim-witted robber failed to crack the CDM (Deposit cum Withdrawal Machine, an ATM-like machine that allows cash deposit directly into account) of the bank.

According to management of 'Bank of India', Diphu branch, an unknown burglar entered the bank breaking the steel balustrade of the window and did his best to open up the CDM but failed. Everything remained recorded in the internal close circuit camera of the bank.

Bank administrations have closed the bank for security reasons and have invited police investigation for now. The daring robbery bid took place at a time when Diphu town has turned into the administrative capital of Assam.
