Governor hands over oxygen generators to Indian Red Cross Hospitals

Guwahati, June 28: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi symbolically handed over seven oxygen generators to three district Red Cross hospitals to strengthen their fight against COVID-19 pandemic at a function held at Raj Bhavan today.

It may be noted that the Indian Red Cross Society, Assam State Branch with the help and support of the Red Cross Society, National Headquarter, New Delhi have received these oxygen generators from Canadian Red Cross society as donation to Red Cross Hospitals located in Silchar, Karimganj and Guwahati.

Accordingly, the Governor has handed over two numbers of oxygen generators to Silchar Red Cross Hospital, two numbers to Karimganj Red Cross Hospital and three numbers of oxygen generators to Guwahati Red Cross Hospital.

The Governor while thanking the Canadian Red Cross for the gesture said that this will empower the respective hospitals to boost their capability to render emergency care including oxygen support to the COVID patients. This gesture will also go a long way in augmenting oxygen related support system of the hospitals, the Governor added.

MLA Silchar Dipayan Chakraborty, General Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society, Assam state Branch Diganta Bujarbaruah, Acting Chairman Biren Sonowal along with other officials of Indian Red Cross Society, Assam chapter were present on the occasion.
