Guwahati, Jan 11: Senior journalist Bikash Moran allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at his residence on Monday night in Assam's Tinsukia.
The journalist was associated as the bureau chief of a satellite news channel in Assam.
An investigation has been initiated, following which, it has come to light that Moran has allegedly 'shot' himself with two rounds of bullets with a pistol.
However, the reason behind his death is yet to be ascertained.
The pistol has been recovered by the police at his residence and the body has been sent for autopsy.
Moran is survived by his mother, wife and three children.
