Silchar, July 28: The APCC delegation headed by president Bhupen Bora, leader of the opposition Debabrata Saikia, All India Mahila Congress chief and former Silchar MP Sushmita Dev, APCC working president and North Karimganj MLA Kamalakshya Dey Purkayastha, former Minister Rockybul Hussain who were heading to visit the clash affected areas in Lailapur along Assam Mizoram border were stopped by district administration from moving ahead.

"This is not an India-Pakistan border, rather an interstate border and we wanted to take stock of the situation. But strangely we are stuck here," APCC chief Bhupen Bora said.

Reacting on the issue, AIMC chief Sushmita Dev said that they are united on the issue and hence wanted to visit and take stock of the situation. " If the Ministers and leaders from the ruling party can visit the place why is it that the opposition is not allowed. We were moving to Lailapur market only," she questioned.

Kamalakshya Dey Purkayastha alleged with disappointment that there should be two ways to look into the issue. If government ministers can move into the clash affected area why is the opposition not allowed?

On the other hand, Borkhola MLA Misbahul Islam Laskar reacted saying "we are worried. It is the failure of the government. We wanted to meet people of Assam who are jeopardised. But we have been unfortunately stuck here at Dholai."
