Silchar, July 28: In what could be called another unfortunate development,according to doctors at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital, another Assam police jawan identified as Sham Sundar Dushad who was hit on the stomach during Monday's clash along Assam-Mizoram interstate border and had been under treatment at the hospital's ICU in critical condition has passed away around 8:40 pm on Tuesday.

Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma condoled the passing away of the jawan as he tweeted "I am sad to inform that Sham Sundar Dushad of 6th AP Bn has succumbed to his abdominal bullet injury at SMCH. He couldn't be operated or moved to Guwahati because of his worsening condition.I salute the brave martyr and bow in reverence. My heartfelt condolences to the family."

On the other hand, sources in the SMCH informed that police man J Mech who was hit on leg in the clash and subsequently referred to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital could not be airlifted on Tuesday. Sources informed that he could be flown to Guwahati at some point today.

On Tuesday, Cachar SP Vaibhav Nimbalkar who sustained grave injuries during the clash with miscreants at Assam-Mizoram interstate border on Monday was airlifted to Mumbai for further treatment. Police personnel Gopeshwar Sinha with femur fracture , A Roy with injury on his hand were also airlifted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for treatment,sources informed.
