Silchar, July 28: In a major development, Assam Police lodged a case about the clash along Assam Mizoram border which led to loss of lives of six jawans of Assam Police.

Special DGP GP Singh, in a tweet on Wednesday informed that the case has been lodged at Dholai Police station about the killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26.

"Dholai PS Case No 236/21 under sections 120(B),447,336,379,333,307,302 IPC read with Section 25 (1-A) of Arms Act and Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public property Act 1984 has been registered on July 27th 2021 about killing of Assam Police personnel on July 26th," Singh tweeted.

"The incident took place at Inner Line Reserve Forest area of Cachar district, Assam along National Highway 306, around 1.7 Kms southwards from Lailapur PP,' Singh added in a tweet.

Also, in another tweet, the Special DGP informed that Assam Police also announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to arrest of each individual involved in the barbaric killing of Assam Police personnel in the incident.


Moreover, Assam Police has prepared a picture gallery which is being further updated of Mizoram Police personnel and civilian miscreants who fired at @assampolice on July 26th. They would be brought to law, Singh mentioned in another tweet.
