Assam government to raise commando battalions for border security

Diphu, July 15: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Tuliram Ronghang has said the Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has assured him that Assam government will raise Special Police Commando Battalions on the delineate of the National Security Guards.


Ronghang mentioned that, these commando battalions will be raised particularly to protect the interstate borders; this special force will be posted in an assortment of susceptible vicinity like Assam – Nagaland border of Tinsukia Districts, Bodo Land Territorial Region including and other critical boundary region.


Tuliram Ronghang also informed that he made on the spot study of the Assam – Nagaland boundary near Lahorijan Border out Post of Karbi Anglong district. Karbi Anglong district shares a vast length of border with Nagaland.Ronghang was accompanied by Amarsing Tisso , Executive Member in charge of Land Revenue Department, Pushpraj Singh Superintendent of Police Karbi Anglong, several other executive members and government officials.
