Guwahati, Nov 8: An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 jolted Assam’s Hailakandi district on Wednesday, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said.
As per the National Centre for Seismology website, the jolt was felt at 10:59 AM.
The epicentre of the quake was in Hailakandi and it lay at a depth of 38 km.
The north-eastern region of India falls in the high seismic zone, making earthquakes frequently hit the region.
