HaiIakandi, Aug 14: An educational institution run by the government of Assam has been damaged due to bomb blast in Sahebmarra near Assam-Mizoram border of Hailakandi district by the suspected Mizo miscreants.
The superintendent of police Gaurav Upadhyay told that the incident of blast occurred due to the blast around 11 to 11.30 pm last night. Major portion of Sahebmarra LP School has been damaged due to the blast and no casualties has been reported so far. A team of police and officials have been rushed to the spot immediately after the blast and "investigation is underway", Upadhyay said.
On the other hand, tension escalated in Chuninullah area of the border under Lala circle in Hailakandi district after the starting of construction of road three kilometres inside Assam border by the Mizoram people. The MLA of Katlicherra, Suzam Uddin Laskar alleged that the workers from Mizoram have started construction and he demanded immediate action from Assam Government. He alleged that the inaction of Assam Government has made the boundary dispute critical.
